||Thank you for visiting the gallery site of Richard Lasner, a fine art photographer, specializing in richly toned images of Italy, the Berkshires, Baseball and Various locations. Please browse through the gallery space. By clicking on and image, you can enlarge it and learn a little bit about it.
In December 2009, Richard Lasner participated in the Florence (Italy) Biennale, an exhibition of 2,500 works of art by 700 artists from more than 70 countries. His fourth place award in photography, judged by eight international jurors, was the highlight of the nine day event for him. The Biennale was attended by many thousands of visitors from all over Europe and elsewhere.
The Washington Post called his solo show "Pretty and Profound" and his images "evocative." The Bethesda Gazette said "with a remarkable eye for composition, artist photographer Richard Lasner has managed to capture not only a bit of its [Italy's] visual beauty, but even some of its sensuality." Read the Bethesda Gazette Review.
Richard Lasner has been photographing for more than 30 years, and creating Watercolor Prints since 1998. His Prints are beautiful, photographically based images that often have the look of a watercolor painting. They generally are created through the microfine spraying of archival dyes onto a textured fine art paper.
The images on the gallery site are all Watercolor Prints. The printing provides a smooth tonal range and saturation to the image unlike any other printing technique. Prints (with borders) with image sizes 14 X 20 and larger are made only in signed, limited editions.
Richard Lasner's work is in the permanent collections of the Bellagio Hotel (Las Vegas), the City Museum (Washington), National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (Cooperstown), Berkshire Museum (Pittsfield), Fondo del Sol Visual Arts Center (Washington), NYU Law School, and the Baltimore Orioles (Baltimore). In addition, his photographs have been published in seven books. His work is shown continuously at Waverly Street Gallery in Bethesda, Maryland, Hoadley Gallery in Lenox, Massachusetts, and Hanback Gallery in Millerton, New York.
